CNN has announced the development of a historical documentary on the City of Detroit, set to be released in 2018. Celebrity Chef and host of CNN's popular "Parts Unknown" show, Anthony Bourdain, will be leading the project. Bourdain considers himself an ambassador for Detroit, one of his favorite cities. Bourdain told the Detroit News: "Given any opportunity to talk up Detroit, or pay attention to it, I’m for it"
Detroit has been in the national spotlight for several years now, the topic of many documentaries that aim to chronicle Detroit's resurgence. It's important to understand Detroit's impact on the country, a city that's often credited with creating the modern middle class. The new documentary will be entitled "Detroit 1963: Once in a Great City." It aims to capture Detroit at the height of its greatness, during the peak of the auto industry and the Motown sound.
